Climactic Night

If first impressions were the sole judgement of whether I watched a show or not Kure-nai would get the axe faster than any series I’ve watched. The opening is just atrocious. It looks like some amatuer opened up flash and had a field day. Ugh. Other than that Kure-nai went beyond my expectations. Let me start off by saying that the animation is downright amazing. The scenery is beautiful and I personally love the character designs. The show is about a boy, Kurenai Shinkurou, who is given the job to protect Kuhouin Murasaki. She came from a rich family with a lot of background; the kind that isn’t happy and involves violence. She is kidnapped and put under the protection of Shinkurou. He doesn’t seem like a normal kid either. At the beginning of the episode you see his body contort in an awkward way, and later you here him say how thankful he is for the body. Maybe he isn’t human? On the other hand we have Murasaki: a seven year old girl who was sheltered her whole life and has a little bit of an attitude. She feels very mature for her age. The show has a lot of emotion, which I love, and ends on a note that put a smile on my face. I’m looking forward to the rest of this series.
